Newgale Beach, Pembrokeshire

A major attraction on the way to the tiny City of St Davids in the northwest of the county, Newgale Beach never fails to wow visitors. Approaching by road in either direction guarantees breath-taking views across this sweeping, pebble backed strand looking out over the expanse of St Brides Bay and, depending on the state of the tide, a birdseye view of surfers riding high, crashing waves, and at more tranquil times, a beautiful shimmering glass sea and distinctive coastal landmarks. This really is a place for making memories with someone special, with family or friends; family dog - or horse, or even to escape to on your own for some personal reflection time.It offers so much for everyone with its expansive, flat hard sand beach at low-tide that stretches for 4km. An area of outstanding natural beauty.

Captured here in cold November light, it's no less beautiful at any time of year or time of day. It's possible to visit for many hours and have the entire beach to yourself at some times of the day. Occasionally, a few like minded folk can be seen settled, warming next to a driftwood fire on the pebble beach as they watch the spectacular sunsets visible from here.

I'll be painting here often. Subscribe to my newsletter and don't miss a thing.
